Mission Learning Trip to Oaxaca

Our trip to Oaxaca was wonderful! It is awesome to see God building His church. This picture was taken in front of the apartment we rented for the week while staying in Huatulco.
From left: Chris J., Chris B, Evan, Jim, Ruben, Stephanie, Deb, David, Elizabeth. Tom Wallen also went with us, he is Chris B.'s mission pastor - he had to catch his flight before I could get a group photo. Chris J, Chris B and Jim are planning to team together in Jan 2010 to live in Oaxaca to teach and work with the believers and plant a evangelical church . As for Ruben and I, our hearts are with the believers we met and worshiped and studied with. It is hard to leave people who are hungry for God's word and who have no solid teaching available to them. We will wait and see if God will have us return to this beautiful place and precious people.

On the following post we have posted random pictures. They are not captioned to save space and time. Some are from Huatulco at the apartment we stayed at and some are from the two villages we visited. We wanted to remember the faces and the homes of those we had the privelege of spending this time with. So you will see more face than scenery.

I met Jesus in March 1997 and soon after I began the practice of writing things down that were happening in my life with the Lord. Over the years, in the rare times that I have looked back into older journals, I have found that the things the Lord was showing me then are the same things He is showing me now. This does not make them less helpful, on the contrary, it makes them more helpful. God is exactly who He says He is and is doing all that He said He would. We need to be reminded of God and His faithfulness. The intention of this blog is to encourage God's people to continue and to grow in their confidence in Jesus Christ. The things posted here are from my journal and are meant to be an example of God's love and help as He loves and helps me.
